wife and setting off with Dr Kawai, Dr Yamashiro
and Mr Takemoto, in front of the rescue helicopter
at Kawasaki Medical University Hospital

５月４日　川崎医大病院前で、川根先生と奥
様、一緒に歩いてくれた川井先生、山代先
生、武本さんと。

Kawai and Yamashiro, May 4th

５月４日、岡山に行く途中、武本さん、川井
先生、山代先生、そして僕の愛媛の生徒さ
ん　二宮さん。

５月８日　ＷＨＯにて、兵庫県喫煙問題研究
会会長　瀬尾先生ご夫妻と。

ＷＨＯ健康開発総合研究センター所長　岩尾
さんからサインつきの額をいただきました。
May 9th, finally finished my walk from Nishi
Akashi into Kobe with my travelling companion
for today, Ms.Nomura. She kept pace with me for
3 and 1/2 hours as we walked 24km on a warm day
and she was kind enough to take this picture of me
as we past Awagi Island Bridge, which ultimately
connects Shikoku Island with Honshu Island.

５月９日、西明石から神戸まで歩きました。
野村さんと一緒に歩きました。僕と同じペー
スで３時間半、２４Ｋ　結構暑い日でしたが
歩いてくれました。右は、野村さんが撮って
くれた本州、四国を結ぶ淡路大橋をバック
に。
May 10th. Arrived at the office of Dr Jun Sono, in Nishinomia, for a preparatory meeting with volunteers, followed by an anti-smoking
demonstration to various public offices in the Nishinomia area.

５月１０日、薗潤先生がお勤めの西宮保健所に訪問。皆さんと歓談の後、西宮エリアを皆で禁煙アピールウオーク。

WEEK 4
May 4th-10th
Receiving 1000 origami cranes from my student
Akiko, outside Himeji Castle. She made the cranes
as a prayer for the success of my walk
.
姫路城にて、僕の生徒さん、あきこちゃん
と。あきこちゃんは僕のＷＡＬＫの成功を
祈って、千羽鶴を作ってきてくれました。
Our silent protest through Himeji shopping arcade,
follwed by a walk to Himeji Castle and a group
photo in the castle grounds, before visiting Himeji
Red Cross Hospital, followed by dinner at the
Iwase residence.
姫路商店街を皆で、禁煙アピールＷＡＬＫ。
この後、姫路赤十字病院に訪問しました。
ディナーは岩佐さん宅で、お家で作った新鮮
な野菜のＢＢＱを頂きました。
A radio interview at radio station FM Genki in
Himeji, where our friend Mr Morita and film crew
associates caught up with us. May 6th.

５月６日、姫路ＦＭＧｅｎｋｉに出演。高松
から森田さんと取材のお手伝いに来て下さっ
た方達と一緒に。
ASH-kun finds international romance at the home
of our 11th homestay family, Dr Iwase, his
daughter and his wife.

May 7th. Scenes from our arrival in Kobe, an introductory speech, for the
No-Smoke Hyogo NPO group, followed by questions from reporters and
then a vocal anti-smoking demonstration through the shopping malls of
Sannomiya, all recorded by TV news and several articles in the local press
.
５月７日、神戸にてＮｏＳｍｏｋｅ　Ｈｙｏｇｏの皆さんの前で自己
紹介。右の写真は取材風景。この後三宮センター街を皆で禁煙アピー
ルウオーク。このウオークは、ＴＶ、新聞数社でも紹介されました。
